Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan improved three spots to No. 4 and No. 5, respectively, in the world doubles rankings after reaching the French Open final for the second consecutive year.
Seeded fifth, they lost to 15th-seeded Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez (no relation) of Spain 6-4, 6-7 (6), 6-3 on Saturday.
The Bryans were co-No. 1s for almost three years until last November. The 38-year-old twins have won a record 16 Grand Slam men's doubles titles but none since the 2014 U.S. Open.
The Bryans played at Stanford in 1997 and 1998, leading the Cardinal to the NCAA title both years. They won the NCAA doubles title in 1998.
