Querrey loses heartbreaker; rankings, TV, calendar

Sam Querrey came within a tiebreaker Friday of reaching the fourth round of the French Open.
   The 18th-seeded Querrey lost to No. 15 Gilles Simon of France 2-6, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2 in Paris.
Still, it was the best French Open of Querrey's career. A 25-year-old San Francisco and part-time member of the Sacramento Capitals in World TeamTennis, he had won only one match in six previous appearances in the tournament.
Querrey is not playing doubles or mixed doubles in the French Open this year.
Meanwhile, Dmitry Tursunov lost in the first round of men's doubles. Tursunov, a Moscow native based in the Sacramento suburb of Granite Bay, and Russian Evgeny Donskoy fell to sixth-seeded Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan and Jean-Julien Rojer of the Netherlands 6-3, 7-6 (1).
Tursunov, a two-time French Open semifinalist in men's doubles, had retired from his second-round singles match on Thursday with a pulled left hamstring. He plans to rest for a maximum of three weeks and play at Wimbledon, which begins June 24.
In an all-American matchup in the first round of women's doubles, Lauren Davis and Megan Moulton-Levy defeated Madison Keys and Melanie Oudin 6-4, 3-6, 6-3. The 28-year-old Moulton-Levy, only 5 feet (1.52 meters), will make her WTT debut with the Capitals debut next month.
Part-time Capital Mardy Fish missed the French Open with ongoing heart problems. The 31-year-old Los Angeles resident reached a career-high No. 7 in the world in 2011.
